Nuits de Fourvière, festival 2024 - Brand design

Theater, music, dance, opera, circus… Les Nuits de Fourvière is devoted to the performing arts, and since 1946 has been committed to the coexistence of different disciplines. Each summer, in June and July, in Lyon, France, the festival presents some 130 performances for over one hundred and thirty thousand spectators. Les Nuits has carved out a singular artistic project for itself, its sole compass being the artistic quality of its projects and their place on the international scene.

After a change of management, the Nuits de Fourvière team is renewing itself. With a rethought project and new values, the festival is evolving and questioning its image. With this in mind, the team entrusted us with the design of the visuals for the 2024 edition, as well as the redefinition of the event’s overall graphic system.

Key visual

The visual is based on a series of images by Lauren Jones, a Californian photographer whose inspirations are drawn from color theory and the 60s. These influences reveal the values of welcome and positive energy that the festival aims to embody. The colors are vibrant, the materials fluid. The composition, zoomed in, will offer another reading, less narrative but more abstract and pictorial.

Logotype

The initial logo of the festival is redesigned in a custom version for 2024. Available in vertical and horizontal versions, it becomes the visual basis of the edition’s communication.

System

The graphic system is made up of a font (Gellix, Displaay), a main color accompanied by a palette of secondary shades, pictograms and strict composition rules.

Season brochure

The brochure layout has been redesigned. Rhythm, handling, material, reading levels, typologies of information… So many elements taken into account in order to make the brochure object as clear and pleasant as possible.
